Meet my new friend and my family!
So, I met a person a year ago for a brief 10 minutes I guess, through another friend who happen to be my dance teacher. We had a big stage show going on and this person came to watch the show. We just had a small intro together also with other dancers and went back to our preparations for the show. Later on, thanks to facebook, we became online friends. Then, a couple weeks before, I got to know that he's came to Bali for a long holiday and we plan to meet up. By nature's grace I would say, after so many obstacles we met on one fine night, that too the night before he returns, at the beach under the light of moon and stars accompanied by the sound of waves.. It was a lovely night I met my friend and we talked for sometime before heading back home as he had to leave the next day. Though meeting took place just once, with technology at our fingertips, we are connected through various mediums and still keeping in touch. Though the frequency has reduced because of both our normal routine life has started, we're trying to keep the friendship going by buzzing each other now and then. It is quiet easy to talk and share things with someone who has same thoughts and interests in almost everything (no 2 person can have exact same thoughts and interests or desires for Everything!) than those who are not. He's an amazing person and friend and I'm glad to have found him.
As for the latter.. Home is where your heart belongs to. My heart belongs to my lil family who came down to visit me, together they made themselves and me at home for 4 solid days. I was in seventh heaven. With my parents and my bro I went to most places they wished and chose to go and spent the whole time together with them. Mom's cooking, dad's presence and occasional fight with my bro.. It just completes my definition of home, Heaven on Earth I would say!! They left 7 hours ago but I can still hear their voices in my room. I just got too used to returning to a room filled with my loved ones for these past four days that when I return to an empty room after sending them off I felt the old loneliness creeping in and a prick of pain somewhere deep inside me. One of the best moments while I was with them was to see my parents got excited and really enjoyed themselves watching DOLPHINS!!! Dolphins which will be out jumping around only during sunrise every morning in Bali Sea in north Bali, is one of the tourist attractions here and we loved the experience!

Happy Independence Day to the land where my nativity lies.. If not for my grandparents who went out of their homeland for a better life at that time, I am not sure if I will ever be born on this planet earth. Thanks to them, I am here and I am who I am today. Though I am a citizen of another country, one cannot forget one's roots. Mine is always in India. Because I am refered as a Malaysian in every other country including in India but in my own country I am under 'Indian' quota for everything. Funny eh? Bitter truth of my life.. But anyways, I am happy for the life I'm living and I am always PROUD to be an INDIAN!! Never once I regret of my skin colour.. That's my identity.

Heavenly!
There's a proverb in Tamil, heaven is under your mother's feet! How true is that.. It can mean literally and it can mean home whr mother lives. When u r away from home, trapped in that 4 walls called your room will make u go mad. But, once you are back home, you wouldn't want to go out of that 4 walls called house cos you want to maximize the time being at home than being elsewhere.
Its just the feeling you get looking at the colour of the walls, cramped on the crampled sofa, switching channels of the tv cos no good programme to watch, homemade food cooked by beloved mother all 3 times served on the dining on time, twisting and turning on that familiar mattress holding that smelly bolster of yours, laughing and cracking jokes when all the family members at home on sundays, pranking parents with siblings.. Oh, thats what u call HOME! And the Heaven on earth!!

2013!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!!
2013, the year I'm looking forward to begin another new chapter of my life.
Well, my year begin with welcoming my fren back to this island from homeland with all the trumpet noise and "Happy New Year" scream and welcoming hugs as soon as she got down from the cab, made her stoned for a lil while. Then, we continued with ice-cream feast for a change to welcome 2013 after watching fireworks outside our rooms.
Everyday is a new day, whether it is new year or not. Treating new year in that way too, my friends and I decided to start the day with a good breakfast. Unfortunately, mother nature started pouring her blessings on earth since b4 sunrise and it continued till noon. So, breakfast plan became brunch plan. While we were on the move after rain stops, it started pouring again leaving us no choice but to make a pit stop in nearby kopitiam, a shop from my homeland which was opened newly in the neighbourhood.
It is not a complete day if we didn't go out exploring, let it be food or shopping! Couple hours later when the rain gradually reduces, we rode finding a new restaurant in the street that we always wanted to go, Jl Petitenget. As said, that street is a food paradise. Lots and lots of restaurants! Name a food u wish to have, it's there! Though it was mostly Europe orientated, it was worth a try.
After walking up and down checking the menu of every restaurant we saw, we were satisfied with this place called Gourmet Cafe. One will be spoiled for choice in this cafe for breakfast. As for the other meals, the cafe doesn't fail to give equal amount of food choices. Roasted chicken is the hot cake here and is a Must Try! The highlight of this cafe is that the customers can custom make their own salad and sandwich. Trust me in this, leaving this cafe without trying the salad is a pure waste! The price is very reasonable for the portion of served food. They too selling delicious cakes and yummy pastries for someone who prefers some dessert. In short, this discovery is worth every penny we spent here.
2013 started amazingly. Awesome day spent with my dear girls after such a long time. Hopefully the year stays amazing and awesome for all of us. All the Best for all you people for all your efforts this year toward success!

Well Spent Day
It is the year end again. The only exciting thing about it is the holidays, Christmas & New Year. Though my family doesn't celebrate Christmas, we used to camp in the the hse of our only relative who celebrates Christmas and then have family gathering on the new year's eve. Stucked in this island of gods called Bali for the past few years, those holidays mean we friends go out to have some good food and have fun as family is an ocean apart. We try to have some real fun like going out on a roadtrip in bikes with friends to suppress the homesick. But this year, nothing similar is planned so far.
But yesterday I had a great day. One of my senior who's learning dance with me leaving for good to Msia after her graduation which is in a fortnight. So, she wanted to make us, the dance teacher and other dancers dinner as she did her last performance in Bali couple days ago. Yesterday, she cooked us dinner in our teacher's house. The menu is all chinese indian vegetarian as 2 of the guests are vegetarian. I helped her personally to do marketing in the morning and to cook in the evening.
We had multiracial guests last night. Our teacher is from India and we have dancers from Bali, Ecuador, Japan & us from Malaysia. Multiracial, multicultural & multi language ! Though their style of cooking is different, they had no problem trying the dishes we prepared and yes, they liked it !! It was the biggest compliment for our chef come doctor last night.
Then for the rest of the evening, we had some get to know other country session as we had 5 countries at hold. We all sang some songs from our motherland & in our own mother tongue. Then, as it started raining cats and dogs outside, teacher played an english hindi movie for us to sit back and relax while waiting for the rain to subside. Later yesterday though my senior and I left when the rain stopped, we were drenched as it started pouring again on the way back. It was just a spontaneous well spent day but it embedded memories no money could buy !!
